Who We Are

The Apex Ki Do Kwan is a family owned and operated modern self-protection school that instructs individuals of all ages and abilities in skills to help keep themselves safer and stronger.  Our staff combines over 50 years of martial arts experience with practical experience in law enforcement and weapons training to provide the best possible curriculum.  The Ki Do Kwan is unique in so many ways.  We have no contracts, enrollment fees or testing fees.  Our belt ranks are earned through dedication and training.  Our outreach extends to all persons interested in self-protection skills, regardless of their interest in long-term training.

What We Teach

The Apex Ki Do Kwan teaches Ki Bon Sool or 'Life Protection Skills' incorporating the martial arts of Hapkido, Tae Kwon Do, Grappling, Weapons Skills and I Liq Chuan.  The 'internal' Chinese martial art of Tai Chi Chuan (sometimes written as Tai Ji Quan) is also taught to create a unity between the body and mind.  Fundamentals of law enforcement defensive tactics are incorporated for civilian practitioners.  Ki Bon Sool uses the 'stop hands' posture as a foundation for all protective techniques.

The Apex Ki Do Kwan is also the home of Life Protection Skills Training Center- an innovative and easy to apply system created to teach basic, repeatable self-protection and verbal skills to anyone.  It has been taught to corporations, civilians, women's groups, children and law enforcement officers at the local, state and federal level. 

Who Should Take Our Classes

Programs are offered for adults, children and special needs individuals in a safe and non-threatening family atmosphere.  Our students have a variety of interests as it pertains to training.  These range from increased physical, mental and spiritual fitness to exploring the historical and philosophical foundations of traditional martial arts.  We invite persons of all levels of fitness, experience, and abilities to visit.  Programs are regularly created for small groups interested in self-protection skills all the way to team-building exercises. After one visit, you will understand why the Apex Ki Do Kwan is a truly unique martial arts experience.
